I offer a holistic body-centered approach to healing your nervous system and releasing stuck emotions. I often work with people who have tried talk therapy and are looking for a more embodied approach to working through anxiety and low self-esteem.

What is Somatic Therapy?
Somatic therapy is about getting out of your head and making space to actually feel what you're feeling. This approach helps release stuck emotions and restore your nervous system.

Somatic therapy can be especially effective if you tend to over-analyze and over-think what's going on for you and sometimes feel disconnected from your body.

This kind of therapy is based on the science that the body holds past trauma and life experiences.

What does a typical session look like?

Each session begins with a moment of grounding. This is a chance to check-in with your body, emotions, and thoughts.
​
You'll then choose a focus for the session or decide to keep it open and see what shows up.
​​
​
The heart of the session is usually about sensing what’s been beneath the surface - perhaps held in your muscles, your posture, or your breath. We go with what shows up; images, words, past memories or physical sensations.
This process of healing is intuitive, creative, and guided by your body’s innate wisdom.
Sessions are typically 50 minutes. I also offer 80 and 110 minute sessions.

Towards the end of the session, we will take time to reflect on what came up for you and how you can bring the session into your daily life. We allow time for your nervous system to integrate what surfaced.
Some clients enjoy closing the session by setting goals for the week ahead.
